I have been wearing this lipstick for years & it has now been discontinued by the manufacturer & replaced with something new. This is the only color I wear (go currant)& I found it on ebay!!! Now I have a good supply of it, so thanks to ebay I still have my favorite color & lipstick.

This lipstick is so smooth, creamy, and moisturizing. I'm using it fast and need more soon. I would recommend this to anyone. I love the color too. I haven't been able to find it anywhere else. I don't know why I haven't been able to find this in stores.

I bought this lipstick 2 years ago in a store and last year went back to buy more when my supply ended and found that they no longer carried my color (sunlit bronze). I was very happy to find it on eBay. This lipstick does not dry out your lips even wearing it and reapplying it all day long. The color is very flattering. And the feel of the lipstick is very smooth and comfortable. I recommend this brand highly. I prefer it over many high end department store lipsticks and the price is great.

Red lipstick looks nice on me

I bought this product because Maybelline discontinued the Velvet Crush 350 color. I have used this for years and love it. I'm very disappointed with Maybelline, it's like when they changed the composition of their eyeliner and denied it and it caused irritation in my eyes. I had been using that for about 30 years. So the only place I can get the Velvet Crush now is eBay. I don't know what I'll do when I can't get it there anymore. If you go online and research this, a lot of women are not happy with Maybelline's decisions regarding changes they make.

Nice eyes and red lipstick is so hot

I LOVE this brand/type of lipstick, but although it looks like a medium/light color in the picture, it was too dark for me to wear. The texture, moisture and coverage of this product are all perfect. I like the fact that it's NOT one of those "all day" types of lipstick, as they tend to be dry. This is the perfect consistency and feels luscious on the lips! It doesn't last all day, but it's better than most other lipsticks I've tried. If you're thinking about getting this product, buy it in person, so you can be sure of the color - otherwise, I highly recommend it!

Lancome products are the best.

I have plump lips and find that regular lipsticks do not provide enough moisture or dry and crack on my lips a little while after applying. Lancome lipsticks have a perfect blend of color and moisture. I had never owned Sugared Maple and am very pleased with it. I think its a color I can wear in at any time of the year.

I have tried this eyeliner several ways to find its maximum potential

The first time I used it, it went on easily and I had a great dramatic line. By the time I was ready to put my mascara on, it had transferred to my upper eyelids. The stuff that didn't transfer, stayed on OK but it was now smeared. The next day I tried I thinner line, which stayed on much better. I also tried lining the inside of my lower lids, which looked great, but disappeared in a matter of hours. I also wear contact lenses, and have to scrape off the eyeliner every night when I take them out. Particles seem to stick to the lenses. I give it 4 stars because so far it goes on the best and does have a decent staying power. I love the brush. If it is drama and endurance you want, I would keep looking.

Bobbi Brown cosmetic products are great!

However and unfortunately, this eye liner was not great. The product may be good for some people, but it just wasn't what I was hoping -- I was looking for a really great eyeliner that was easy to apply. This is not easy to apply with the brush - the product is a bit lumpy and goes on unevenly. Since it came in a variety of eye-lining colors I was hoping it would be a terrific product, but for me, it was not. I use other Bobbi Brown cosmetics and they are very easy to apply and subtle. I wish I liked this product better, but unfortunately, I do not.

I read the reviews that emphasized that the product lasted all day and was superior to others. I like the fact that it is easy to apply and that there is no pressure placed on the eyelid. I found that it is easy to remove. I didn't find that it lasted all day as reported by others. For the price, I think that I will keep looking. It is expensive and a small size.

Most liquid liners have a short felt tip

The short tip provides very little control when attempting to apply a straight line. This leads to a heavy application in an effort to straighten the line. However, Maybelline ultra liner has the perfect applicator brush. It looks like a nail polish applicator brush with fewer bristles. This applicator is the key. The longer tip gives much more control. With this tip, I’m able to apply a thin, straight line that is close to the lashes every time. I only use liquid liner on my upper lid. I start at one corner of my eye and stop in the middle. Then, I start at the opposite corner and end where the two lines connect. That's it. The only drawback is that you have to ensure that the brush is not heavily saturated. If you apply too much of the liquid, the line will look unnatural, and it will peel or flake after a couple of hours.

I bought Bare Escentuals mineral veil to re-stock what I had been using for quite a few years

It's natural looking make-up, easy to apply, and feels like you're not wearing any make-up. It can be freshened up through out the day without getting a heavy feeling. The best thing about Bare Escentuals is that it's good for your skin without adding anything with chemicals or other ingredients that might cause flare-ups or breakouts.

I love this eye color. The retractable pen type avoids a lot of waste and never breaks

Then you son't need to carry a sharpener. The color is as described and goes on smoothly. I prefer Mary Kay products because they have very few chemicals and are not harmfu to the skin. They contain vitamens that are antioxidants and have anti aging properties.

The eyeliner is hard to apply it is not as soft as I had hoped it would be. It brakes off easily, and that wastes a lot of the product. I would not purchase this again, although if there was a softer alternative, I would purchase that. Would also perfer one that needs sharpening as apposed to one that twists up.

I have been using Mary Kay for over 10 years. Although I do not use their whole makeup line

I do use their eyeliners. The colors and formula is awesome! I've tried to use other eyeliners and none give me the color or lasts as well as Mary Kay's. It stays put until you take it off and the formula is perfect for smudging to achieve the smokey eye look. I love Mary Kay entire line. Their liners are waterproof and smudgeproof and last all day without the itching and I have allergies. There is nothing I really dislike. What I like is that when you hold it to the light you can see where yo are at so you know when you are running low, so no guessing when you need another. you don't need a sharpener. Its simple to use and it has a smooth glide, no pull to it.

This is my first time trying Bare Minerals Veil and I think it's a great product. Now trying it

I cant imagine not having it! My face is very oily and usually I apply sunscreen to my face before makeup so, when I go to apply my bare minerals foundation it doesn't go on smoothly. But now that I have the Veil, I just dust it over my face after the sunscreen then apply the foundation. It absorbs the excess moisture and makes my skin a perfect smooth canvas. It takes away all shine too. Very absorbent. I would not recommended this to someone with really dry skin, it might not feel comfortable. So use this if you have oily skin or if you like to apply lotion/cream and sunscreen to your face before foundation.

this is an excellent product and I would never go back to liquids ever again

I love and have been using this entire range for at least the last ten years - long before it became well known and popular. For as long as i can remember, people have been complimenting me on my skin, and I am 53 years of age.

Therefore, I wasn't concerned about this new illuminating Mineral Veil Face Powder being a disappointment, and I was not wrong. The only one thing I noticed is that its size is short by a couple of grams, but it has a new sifter in it which the old one didn't have. This means, basically, that nothing goes to waste. Initially I bought Bare Minerals from an Infomercial; the first time I have done this, and I am now buying it from Ebay as it is a cheaper price.

If there's 1 itty bitty complaint that I have about the NYX Round Lipsticks

it's that there are some of them that "smell" like soap, & you end up tasting this scent. Which is exactly the thing. I think with lipsticks it should be a flavor, not a scent. Maybe food flavors like vanilla or chocolate, or at least fruits. Otherwise, the color payoff is great and these lipsticks are gonna last me forever. I researched all of the good colors at so I knew they were going to look amazing before I got them.

What I like about this product is first of all it's low prices which is very affordable

It also has a wide range of colcrs that can easily suit different skin colour.So, it is for these two main reasons that i've decided to buy this product and I intend to buy more colors as they are of good quality product. About the lipstick itself, it has a good creamy texture which is very moisturize but the only problem is that it is NOT a longlasting product. Moreover buyers should be very careful while chosing their colours as it is NOT exactly the same as shown on the internet by the sellers. Before chosing, I would advise buyers to have a look at different swatches on youtube so that they could be more aware about the colours they want to buy.

Light lemon scent and LOTS of color

Lot's of color, not too creamy, shimmery, frosty, thick, or dry.

Plenty of moisture! No funky smell! Excellent, excellent, low end lipstick. These NYXs are just as good as a department store lipstick.

I especially am happy with the smell, as I hate the smell of drugstore lipstick. Often, I'll throw drug store lipstick away soon after purchase because of the smell, but not the NYX.

Also, the lip glosses are just as fabulous. Light lemon scent and LOTS of color. Not too gloppy or gewy, but lots of shine!

A great line. I also love the NYX Jumbo sticks. The only NYX product I'm not thrilled about are the eye liners which are littler hard. I like softer eyeliner pencils.

BUT, if you're looking for pure genuine color, and are sick of all these shimmering half pink, half orange type lipsticks, well, NYX does real 100% true colors, which is what I'm into recently.

I love MAC and have been a Studio Fix Fluid user for a while

The color match between NC50 in the liquid, and NC50 in the powder plus foundation is off. I found the powder to be significantly lighter. I thought it might settle a bit and darken, but it never did. I was disappointed. The overall wear of the PPF is great, but I would say don't assume that because you wear SFF liquid in one shade that the SFPPF will be the same.

MAC Studio Fix is one of the most complete Foundation product ever

I use it about 5 years and i don`t change it for another product because i know its trustful. I don`t like to risk when i`m deciding about healthy, beauty products and things releated to my skin or hair. Its pretty serious to me. I know that its not the cheapest Powder Foundation product but i dòn`t care about that. Trust is very important. MAC is trustful to me. I really wanted to love this. It is way too drying for my skin...and it is much lighter than the liquid of the exact same color. I would definitely suggest getting one shade darker than you are used to in the liquid. But also make sure that you don't have already dry skin, because it does make your face feel tight and dry. I miss the MAC moistureblend! That was my favorite, this was a bad choice for me, personally.

This powder makes a wonderful finish powder for your regular foundation

Even though this lists itself as a foundation, I find it gives a smooth and even finish over my regular foundation, with a little extra dab of the brush over the areas that need more coverage. I've gotton lots of compliments about how beautiful my skin is since I've started using this powder.

I am suprised at how well this product performs. I thought it was a brand for teens and twenties, but it's working great for the fifties, too!

I am a longtime fan of MAC Makeup in general, I have been wearing it almost exclusivly for over 15 years

(I am only 32 so when you do the math, you will realize, I ran onto their company in its infancy during my late teens and have remained a loyal customer ever since! I have tried so many other products and to me nothing comes close to the Studio Fix line that MAC offers. (It is my favorite product above all else and I just cannot live without it!) I have never been disappointed with any other of the hundreds of products that I have purchased from them over the past 15+ years either. I have made a believer out of family and friends as well. Any one who knows me, knows that its MAC or nothing. And yes, MAC is pricey, but during times when you get what you pay for and you need to stretch every dollar you have (and everything else right along with the dollar) MAC provides me with a very long lasting, quality product that has far exceeded all of my expectations. Now how often can you say that about anything? Another fabulous and environmentally friendly aspect of purchasing MAC as opposed to other cosmetic brands, is that MAC allows you to recycle their containers and exchange them for free beauty products! (Save up 6 containers and exchange them for one free lipstick or eyeshadow.) If you have not tried MAC, you truly dont know what your missing, dont be antimadated by the staff, they are all truly caring an talented individuals who will do everything they can to make your MAC experience amazing!

Purchased this foundation because I have oily skin (even at 40) and I was tired of blotting my face

This foundation covers well and has helped considerably with a more natural looking and less shiny face. I put it on with a damp sponge and this helps me to spread it better without too much coverage in one area. If I need a little more under my eyes, it still goes on well with a second application. This has been the best foundation so far that has helped considerably with the my problem. Great product! I have used Mary Kay ever since I started wearing makeup. My grandmother used it, and her skin was just beautiful, so when I started wearing makeup as a teenager, it had to be Mary Kay! The pricing on Mary Kay products on eBay is great! So much better than buying it directly from a Mary Kay representative. I used to sell it, so I can see the savings.

I want to say that this is a good foundation but I need to test it for a month

The reason why is because I suspect that this foundation might be breaking me out. The color match is close but initially I found the foundation a bit too orange on my complexion but once it dries and I apply powder over the foundation, it closely matches my skin tone. You do have to apply it in small amounts in sections of your face because it dries rather fast and work quick in blending. The price is right and I do like that fact that it doesn't run or bleed because my face is very oily (but sensitive). I would recommend this foundation to those on a budget and wants a foundation with staying power. But I would caution those who have sensitive skin. This might break you out but if you cleanse your face very well, by using a makeup remover and then your regular facial cleanser, you might not develop acne rash.

I actually decided to try MK from reading reviews on Ebay sites! As a makeup artist

I can get my hands on all kinds of "high end" foundations, but having tried the superb MK lip & eyeliners, I thought I'd trust all the ringing endorsements I got from the reviews. I'm glad I did! This foundation is flawless going on; it doesn't look makeup-y; and has a clean feeling about it while delivering impressive coverage. Just make sure you get the right color! Without having color "smears" to assist in one's choice, I have about 6 that are way too dark. I ended up being in the Beige 200's, and I have medium/light olive skin. I hope that helps you decide on trying this fabulous foundation.

being african american it can be hard to find foundations with the correct undertones

i wear bronze 507 which has a perfect yellow/golden undertones not pink red or orange, i luvvvv the medium coverage formula it really controls oil very well, and give u that matte finish. i have used the full coverage formula as well in winter when my skin is a little dryer or sometimes ill mix both overall the coverage is flawless people always ask how i keep my skin so clear, its simple, foundation duhhhh lol. really good product and u can always find them super cheap on ebay.

SIDENOTE: both formulas offer great coverage the medium is geared toward normal to oily skin and the full coverage is more for dry skin so i find its a little more oil/moisture based but luvv um both.

I love rotating my makeup and Mary Kay is one staple product that I will always have on hand

Mary Kay glides on so smoothly, has this soft powdery after application,it light and not heavy or cakey like other foundations. In addition, The color range is fabulous, it travels easily and I compare the wear of the foundation to other high end brands. I love this foundation because I have tried so many and this one lasts all day. Compared to others, it is easy to apply and take off. People always compliment me on my skin and it is due to this product. It actually matches my skin tone and my face looks flawless in photos taken. I would recommend this product to anyone!!!

This is the best stuff there is! At first I thought that it would be just another concealer/foundation

Boy was I wrong! It is lightweight, but flawless!It doesnt feel cakey or sallowy like some other full coverage bases do. Application is easy and it leaves a seamless beautiful look. I love this makeup. It has moved into my number 1 spot! I rate it higher than Stila Illuminating Foundation, which is what I wore faithfully.I cautiously bought it, but I am so glad I did! I have been using the Skin79 The Oriental Gold BB cream for about two weeks now

I would have to say it has a good texture, light, it doesn't feel sticky or cakey, it's very easy to blend. The scent also isn't too strong, it doesn't have much of a fragrance which is good. It's not so thick as the Lioele Triple Solution BB cream I was using prior to Skin79. However, with Skin79, it doesn't have as much coverage as the Triple Solution BB cream. I also prefer the tone of the Triple Solution over the Skin79 BB cream (I have Asian skintone) Overall, I think Skin79 Gold BB cream is average. Good for medium coverage.

I LOVE the The Oriental Gold BB Foundation! Normally no BB cream fits as I am to light

I have pale nordic skin, and this one fits me perfectly. It gives a light coverage also, wich I like. my skin is dry-combination, and this BB Cream kept me moisturized all day without me flaking or anything - and I live in the cold north with a normal of 20 degrees celsius in the winter.....!
All in all i love this product, and plans to order more ;)

I did a ton of research online about BB creams before choosing to purchase this particular product

I have found it to be really great so far. Coverage is light to medium and looks very natural (my skin is fair). I like that it has a good spf and HOPE that it lives up to it's claims about lightening pigmentation - can't tell yet. As far as being moisturising I think it is somewhat, although my skin is very dry so I still use moisturiser underneath. It doesn't feel like it dries my skin out at all though. The lip and cheek tint is handy and a nice colour, love the packaging. I would buy again for sure.

I was going to buy Garnier BB cream

I was going to buy Garnier BB cream until I read the reviews. In one of the reviews the author recommended Oriental gold BB foundation.It arrived very quickly and when I tried it - WOW- what a difference it made to my complexion. No visible line between chin and neck, complete coverage of brown spots and a smooth, even finish. My ( very dry ) skin was moisturised all day and felt wonderful. Will definitely buy again as very economical because a little goes a long, long way. 10 out of 10

has been a good way to see these products, with a size to try, I've loved, Skin79 VIP Gold Collection BB, I think is a fantastic product, hydrates, protects against sun, leaves skin smoothed, and the color blends perfectly with the tone of my skin, it is not fat, I have not had to use powders and also has endured throughout the workday perfectly, the pack also included super beblesh balm (pink), did not notice any particular difference, I have seen the packaging and it seems that the difference is in the treatment of wrinkles, and I assume that such difference appreciated more in the long run, also fantastic. and the Diamond collection online, first, the pestige bb cream (pink), lighter, in my case I see it more appropriate for example, for a party, dinner or a night out, because it has sun protection and because it has the discrete tone light which makes the skin glow is less opaque than the other two. luminous Pearl and finally beblesh balm have loved to give a final ouch makeup around the eyes even for the neckline, gives a beautiful shine!. In short, I am very pleased with these products and test them this way, highly recommended!

I have been using Mary Kay cream to powder makeup for years

When I ran out I didn't know what to do.Then I had to quite work do to health issues,so I could not afford to get it.I had to try to find something else.Nothing else compared to my Mary Kay.You get full coverage and it goes on very smooth then it last all day,It looks very natural. Make sure you match it to your skin tone.I love it and I highly recommend it. I have used Mary Kay creme to powder foundation for many years (40+)and love it, however, this one seems to be very dry compared to others I have previously purchased. Mary Kay discontinued the color Rose Beige, which I used for several years and I am trying to find a color that is close to that and I still am not successful. At the present time, I am mixing two colors but am very unhappy that Mary Kay changes the foundation colors so often. I have been useing Enriched Moisturiser (formula 2) for 40+ yrs. before applying the foundation. Actually, I don't use the foundation all over my face.......just under my eyes and touch up some improfections. I will continue to use MK as it has agreed with my sensitive skin. I just hope MK brings rose beige back!

This creme to powder foundation from Mary Kay is the best I've ever tried

Doesn't feel caky. Matches skintone perfectly. Goes on smooth like a foundation, buut looks fresh like a powder to keep me shine free. I actually brought this product for my mother. Mary Kay seems to have discontinued the product, but she absolutely LOVES this creme to powder foundation and color. The only place I can find it for a reasonable price IS EBAY.I would always come back to eBay to purchase this Mary Kay's Creme to powder foundation as long as they carry it.

The foundation may be applied lightly for a sheer cover or may be used to hide other perfections on the face. I also like that there is a wide range of colors for most every skin tone.I have a very sensitive skin, and get allergic reaction to many products. I was introduced to Mary Kay 20 years ago, and tried it just for the heck of it. It is the greatest product, Hypoallergenic, beautiful colors, leaves your skin smooth and make you look younger. Takes years away from you, just by wearing it. Will highly recomend to everybody. Will no tbe disapointed.

I LOVE Bare Minerals foundation!! I have tried SEVERAL different mineral foundations

and a lot of them were from big named cosmetic companies that charged a heck of a lot more than Bare Minerals, and some were drugstore brands. But NONE of them compared to Bare Minerals foundation! It has full coverage, which means you need very little to do the trick, unlike those other brands, which I ended up needing 4x as much to get the same coverage, which also means going through the product faster making it more expensive. It feels wonderful on the skin and never cakes up or dry your skin out and you do not have to reapply throughout the day because it stays put. Try it here on eBay, you will not be disappointed. I ALWAYS buy my Bare Minerals on eBay because I can find the best deals here.

I have super sensitive skin for which finding the right foundation is always a pain

having used brands like MAC, Prescriptives I still had problems with caking and clogging.

Bare Minerals had a steep expectations to beat these top-rated products, after a week of observance it has finally passed the test in flying colors with
Pro's : No clogged pores, no cake layers on my skin, all day long coverage, no oily T zones, Gives a natural glow with sunscreen protection ...u can't beat that

I have really blotchy red undertones

but this product is a must have for me, It covers the redness with just a few quick sweeps(with the fuller brush). This is totally worth paying a little extra. The only reason I'm giving a 4 star instead of 5 is because it doesn't last long by itself, it fades within the hour (but thats because I need major coverage). I love to pair it with a tinted moisturizer, that makes it last longer. (they make a primer for it too, but I haven't used that since the sample size that came with the starter kit)

I just bought the bareMinerals SPF 15 foundation medium

and I was a little worried about buying it over the internet..
But it turned out be great, and had a great coverage. The color was also as expected:) will buy it again;) You can't put too much of it on. If you get to much on the brush, just fluff it all around and it blends. It is light enought for even the lightest skin tones which I am a cool 1 Cool and this is hard to find. It has a slight shimmer/illuminating property which causes your pores to not show up and smooths our everything. I love it - this is the fifth one I have purchased.

I love the Bare Minerals foundation. It covers flaws in your skin and lasts throughout the day. I tried Medium Beige but it was too dark. The Medium shade is just right for me and I usually use blush instead of Warmth. For some reason, I have a heavy hand putting on Warmth and it makes me look like I stayed too long in "fake and bake." When my forehead gets shiny, II have been wearing bareMinerals for 10 years now and still love it! You can adjust the coverage you get just by the way it is applied. A light dusting evens my skin but still looks very natural. For a more matte look I just put more on! It never clumps or gets weird. My skin loves it. It does not clog pores or ever cause breakouts. I am a huge fan of bareMinerals!!!

This makeup is wonderful, and I am a complete convert

It blurs fine lines, pores and discolouration without caking or turning into a mask. It can withstand a workout without running or feeling heavy. It looks like your own skin, even in natural light, and does not migrate or change colour during the day. Definitely looks best when topped with a dusting of mineral veil, but can be worn alone.

A couple of caveats:

- try a variety of shades in a sampler/kit before committing to a large size, as even one shade difference (in my case, from fair to fairly light) can make you look either ghostly or great

- use very lightly and build up where needed, as it can settle into expression lines around the mouth and eyes if you are too heavy-handed

- make sure you've exfoliated first, as it can show up dry skin patches

I wholeheartedly recommend this product.

This is my first experience with BB Cream

and Missha was recommended by many beauty bloggers. Having seen pictures of shade #18, I was concerned it would be too dark for my NW/NC15 skin. Discovering this even lighter shade was pleasant surprise. It matches my complexion well.
I have not used the product long enough to see if it makes a significant difference to my skin's condition, but so far, I'm pleased. The cream is like a tinted moisturizer with sunscreen and the added bonus of anti-wrinkle properties. It leaves my skin looking a little more even, without looking like makeup.
I was also happy to find a tube this size. Small enough that you can try it out without commiting to a whole bottle, but large enough that it will tide you over until you can order more, without wasting money or thowing away product (or worse, cluttering up your bathroon with a tube of something you won't use).
With the benefit of several products in one, this cream will simplify my makeup routine, lower my costs and perhaps even save space in my makeup drawer!

I bought two D420 - for myself and my coworker

The goal - inexpensive and practical notebook to carry around. Works great for this purpose. I tried a comparable size netbook and preferred D420. 

Pros: Keyboard - good size, two "mouse controllers" - pad and joystick/button in the keyboard, can add WWAN miniPCI card, good screen, pretty light. Matte finish is very practical - no visible fingerprints and even scratches are alot less noticable. Part to repair it are cheap on eBay - mainly it is the keyboard that needs replaments. Powerfull CPU - there are two cpu option for this computer - Core Solo 1.06GHz and Core Duo 1.2ghz. They both are more powerfull than Atoms. Battery located in front, so laptop is very stable and not falling over. Docking port, because it is a business type notebook. PCMCIA port. Low price for small size and light laptop. 

Cons: Battery life 2:30-3 hours on standard battery and like upto 5 hours on extended. Not a problem for us, because almost always we have a possibility to plug it to AC. No webcam - also not a problem for us, because we do not use them. Relatively big power adapter(compared to netbooks). Can get a bit hot on the bottom. 1 RAM slot, max memory is 2GB+512mb onboard. For some reasons it reports only 2GB available. Actually enough for what we are doing. 

Overall: I was comparing it to netbooks and preferred D420. In no way I am saying that netbooks are bad, they are great for their area. Just in our particular case we preferred D420. We are actually considering getting several more for office workers when they need to take a laptop with them - they are inexpensive and little worries if they are damaged, lost or stolen. They are cheap. Excellent value for the price.

Buying & Collecting Slide Rules

LOOKING FOR A SLIDE RULE

If you are looking for a slide rule on ebay you are either a collector or an enthusiast, (you like using them). While a collector will look for certain kinds of slide rules, a user, or a "math wonk," or a student will be looking for totally different kinds of slide rules.

Rule of thumb for Collectors: rare, weird, and old is good. A common slide rule is what you buy to fill in the holes in your collection.

Rule of thumb for Users and Students: late model, student style, plastic or aluminum bodies are the best. Beware high end scientific slide rules; they are very cool, but can be too cluttered and harder to use, and too valuable to abuse with normal use.

Specific things to look for:

Firstly, is there a 'cursor,' (the sliding lens with a hair line)? If it's missing, don't bother; if it's broken, it can get too expensive to repair.

Secondly, if you can see 'irregular' gaps between the slide and the frame, it's usually not fixable; if you "can't" see the separations between the slide and frame, that's great! But if you see a very straight and sharp gap, that's okay as long as it isn't huge, (on 'high end' and 'aluminum' slide rules it's adjustable!).

Thirdly, is the face of the rule clean, discolored, legible, badly scratched, or engraved badly by some previous owner? (professional engraving or calligraphy can be kind of cool). Watch out for corrosion on screws, cursor frames and metal end brackets. Green corrosion is not good, but can be cleaned. This can mean that the nice bright metal plating will give way to copper or plain steel finish that rust very easily and doesn't look so great. Brown or red corrosion is very bad and very hard to get a good results with.
Also, watch for bleed-thru from leather carrying cases, usually it can be cleaned, but you really don't want to mess with that job.

Fourthly, Warping! When looking at the photos in the ads, always look for angles that show how straight the rule is. Warped rules are junk! (Beware that some cameras, at some angles, make every slide rule look bent, so don't freak out until you verify what you're looking at).

Fifthly, engraved is good, printed...not so much. But WAIT! Pickett aluminum slide rules are one of the finer slide rules out there and are printed...kinda...it's a really high tech photo transfer and works great! Early Picketts were made of magnesium, (horrible material! corrodes badly!). Entry level Picketts are plastic and engraved and not bad; good for beginners and very durable.
That said, entry level and cheapy slide rules tend to be printed or worse - printed on paper that is glued to wood. Printed slides are okay, but easy to ruin by cleaning.

Student slide rules can run the gamut from real crap to high art, but all tend to be more robust than their Professional cousins, i.e. plastic or heavy wood.

A note on engraving: fat lines are bad! The finer the lines, the more precise the slide rule is. If the lines look rough or blurry, it can be harder to get a good reading and also reflects poor quality control and workmanship. When you see a scale, (the series of marks on the face of a slide rule) that has very fine and precise lines, you'll know you are looking at high quality.

Now that we've covered the basics, lets talk about scales....
I won't bore you with all the specifics, but here's some stuff to take note of.
There are math scales, (the vast majority) and there are specialty scales. Specialty scales can be anything from metric conversions to valve sizing. Some slide rules have hyper specialized scales for light absorption and wavelength properties or chemical weights and pressure values, and some are financial with currency conversions and profit formulas. Some are just weird and some are highly useful even today and are highly sought after, i.e. valuable.
On the straight math side, there are 4 or 5 basic scales that just about all slide rules share- C, D, A, B, K. In the beginning, these were considered just fine, (Albert Einstein, Wernher von Braun, and Gustave Eiffel all used slide rules not much fancier than this) but slide rule makers got more and more clever and started adding more scales in better arrangements to do more complex calculations more easily and the next thing you know, some slide rules had as many as 25 to 34 scales!
Not to put too fine a point on it, but more scales means more expensive, then and now. Believe it or not, as expensive as slide rules were, most slide rule makers did NOT make a profit on their slide rules! They seemed to mostly be a promotional item to get people to buy their drafting and engineering supplies, and since slide rules were so highly prized by their owners it seemed to work. You should know that the wood and bamboo, (better than wood) used in slide rules, required at least 2 years or more of preparation before they could even start making the slide rule itself!

I've been using this shampoo for about two months now. I have very fine hair. After the first use I could tell the texture of my hair had definitely changed. The hair seems much thicker and has more body. Overall this was the most dramatic change I've seen with a shampoo which claimed to thicken hair. I can see myself using this shampoo for the long run.

Excellent fairway wood for better players. Love the smaller head of all the 910Fs

but I chose the 19* to complement my 909F 3W. I like my 909, but this 910 5W is much easier to hit off of tight fairway lies, more consistently. I actually adjusted the loft so it is a little hotter---closer to a 4W loft. This club gives me confidence when I stand over the ball with it in my hands. Love the black face. And the feel and sound from good sweetspot contact is exhilerating. You feel like a pro when you hit this thing squarely.

Got fit for the shaft before buying, but bought one with a different shaft 'cause the price was very attractive from a reputable retailer on Ebay and I was planning to put a high-end custom shaft in it anyway. So, changed the shaft out (which is simple once the Titleist adapter has been installed on the shaft) to something well-suited to my swing, then easily and quickly sold the original new shaft it came with, with the Titleist adapter already on it, It was still new and considered a great shaft itself.

I play all Titleist clubs. I am a 6 handicap and play 3-4 days per week and practice 2 or 3 others every week. I know, if it's a Titleist, it's a top shelf, well made and engineered piece of golf equipment with which I can't go wrong.

Specifically with this camera, there are a couple of issues

The loading process is a pain to get used to. Also there are some mechanical issues with the cameras frame counter on the bottom of it. For instance, the counter does not move for every shot taken. For example the counter may be on frame 12 when you get it, you have to wind a wheel inside and click the shoot button until you get it to go back to S or 1. And thats saying that the counter works at all.

All toy cameras have quirks. This is not my first one. I have a small collection of plastic cameras. The built quality of this was is seriously lacking in some areas. I would NOT pay 30 dollars for this camera under any circumstance.

My experience with my LOMO ACTION SAMPLER was that of a used one, roughly had 10 rolls of film used through it. So to give you an idea of what it takes to get one thats jacked up, there you go. 10 roll of film and things are breaking on it.

So far not impressed with LOMO. You would figure a company with $500 dollar plastic toy cameras would be able to fix silly problems with their cheaper more bought models.

Also I paid about $14 dollars for mine total. Ruined one roll of film trying to figure out the loading process, and wasted 2 hours searching for a manual online that was legible.

Jonathan Toews won't return on trip

DETROIT -- The Chicago Blackhawks were hopeful captain Jonathan Toews would be able to join them on their current road trip, but coach Joel Quenneville ruled him out of Sunday's game against the Red Wings as well as Tuesday's contest in St. Louis.

"Still progressing but no change," Quenneville said after practice on Saturday. "He's not on the ice. He's not going to be on the trip."

Toews has missed the last six games with what a source close to the injury calls a concussion and continues to work out off the ice back in Chicago. The Hawks are 3-3 without him in the lineup.

Defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson also won't play Sunday, as he's missed 11 of 12 with a concussion as well, the source said.

"He's real close, he's real close," Quenneville said of Hjalmarsson. "He says he's feeling much better. He's going through some real conditioning skates here. He's really progressing here."

Hjalmarsson thought he might be able to play against the Red Wings on Sunday, but he is still getting back into game shape.

"Being gone for that long you just want to get your conditioning back," Hjalmarsson said. "That's what I'm working on and [I'll] take it from there."

The Wings' Pavel Datsyuk and Nicklas Lidstrom will miss the contest with injuries.

Ray Emery will start his second consecutive game and is looking for his third win in a row overall.

Panthers beat Senantors for first time

Marcel Goc, Krys Barch and Mikael Samuelsson scored second-period goals and the Panthers rallied to beat the Senators for the first time in 10 games, 4-2 on Sunday night.

The Panthers were coming off a 7-0 loss at Winnipeg on Thursday night and a 3-1 loss to Nashville on Saturday night. They picked up an important two points as they try to maintain their Southeast Division lead.

Jack Skille added a goal with 1:26 left, Jose Theodore made 23 saves, and Mike Weaver had two assists to help the Panthers beat the Senators for the first time since a 3-0 victory in Ottawa in January 2010.

"It was good to get a win finally in front of these fans that are itching for the playoffs," Skille said. "We want to make sure that we come back with a lot of push at the end of the season here."

Crockpot Beef Stroganoff

INGREDIENTS

1-1/2 lbs. beef sirloin tip, cut into cubes 1"
1 chopped onion
4 minced cloves garlic
1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. dried thyme leaves
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 bay leaf
1-1/2 cups beef broth
8 oz. carton sour cream
2 tablespoons mustard
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup water

DIRECTIONS

Combine all ingredients except sour cream, mustard, flour, and water in a 3-1/2 quart slow cooker. Cook on low heat for 8-10 hours (high for 4-5 hours). Remove bay leaf.

Mix sour cream, flour, and water in medium, mix well using a whisk. Add 1 cup of the hot liquid from the crockpot to the sour cream mixture and stir until combined. Return mixture to the crockpot and stir well. Cover crockpot and cook on high for 20-30 minutes until thickened and bubbling. Serve over hot cooked egg noodles.

Mac & Cheese

INGREDIENTS

2 cups of chicken broth
2-1/2 cups of heavy cream
2 Tbsp. of butter
1 Tbsp. of olive oil
1 finely chopped onion
4 minced cloves garlic
1 lb. rotelle or rotini pasta
3 Tbsp. of Dijon mustard
1-1/2 cups of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1-1/2 cups of shredded Gouda cheese
1 cup of shredded Gruyere cheese
1/2 cup of diced Brie cheese (remove rind)
salt and pepper to taste
1 cup of bread crumbs
3 Tbsp. of melted butter
1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 450 degrees and butter a 13"x9" baking dish. Bring a large pot of water to boil for the pasta.

Bring the chicken broth to a boil in a medium saucepan, reduce to 3/4 cup over high heat. Bring the cream to a boil in another large heavy saucepan, reduce it to 1-1/2 cups.

Melt butter and olive oil in another large heavy saucepan and cook onions and garlic until translucent. Cook the pasta and drain.

Add the reduced cream and reduced broth to the onions, next add the mustard, cheddar, Gouda, Gruyere, and Brie cheeses and whisk until melted and blended. Add the seasonings. Add the pasta and mix well. Spoon into baking dish. In small bowl, mix bread crumbs, 3 tablespoons melted butter and Parmesan cheese; sprinkle over casserole. Bake at 400 degrees for 25-35 minutes until the top browns.



WINTER SQUASH SOUP


Frozen winter squash makes this soup quick to prepare, and the slow cooker makes it extra-easy.

Hint: Use vegetable broth to make this a vegetarian soup.

Ingredients:
2 packages (10 ounces each) frozen winter squash puree
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup chopped onion
1/8 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1/2 teaspoon dried leaf thyme
1/4 teaspoon dried leaf sage
3/4 cup heavy cream
Sliced green onions, sour cream, or chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Preparation:
Put frozen squash, chicken broth, onion, and seasonings in a 4 to 6-quart slow cooker.
Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours.
Add cream and continue cooking for 15 minutes.
*Blend in small batches until smooth.
Taste and adjust seasonings.
Serve with a garnish of sliced green onions, sour cream, or chopped fresh parsley.
Makes about 1 quart of soup.

Hint: *Use a hand (stick) blender with a metal foot attachment, and blend ingredients right in the slow cooker, soup will stay hot, and clean up will be easy.

We recently purchased an Ozark Trail Twin Airbed. The price is very reasonable, it inflates quickly,the velour cover on top is nice and a travel/storage bag is included. But that is the beginning and end of the positive points of this product.

This was used indoors for one night only. Much to our shock and dismay, the Ozark Trail Twin Aired deflated within a very short period of time. It did not remain inflated for one single night. Sleeping on a carpeted floor with a quilt, blanket and pillow with a brand new deflated Ozark Trail Twin Airbed results in no sleep, stiff and sore muscles and back pain.

One is much better off sleeping on the sofa, a cot or even a beach lounger in comparison with this very disappointing product. Do yourself a service by avoiding any Ozark Trail Airbeds at all costs.

Research TCA peels before use. It does tingle when you apply! You can use UP TO 50% strength on stretch marks, it will hurt, 25% will work very well with much less burning. Stretch marks will be permanently removed with each peel you apply...may take many treatments, don't give up! I don't have ANY stretch marks on my belly from having 2 kids!!

TATTOOS always use 50% on tattoos.
