My 5 Biggest eBay Clothing Seller Mistakes
My Biggest eBay Baby & Children's Clothing Selling Mistakes
1. Listing a "Lot" of 13 items, all in LIKE NEW condition, for .99 without a reserve. Why? I thought the low starting price would draw more people in to look & bid it up to a very high ending price (especially with new name brand, boutique, department store, and luxury baby clothing items), and I would at least break even, if not make a few bucks. The lot of 13 items sold for .99.
OUCH
2. Not weighing my lot of items beforehand to find out the shipping price, and listing $5.00 as a shipping price to ship a "Lot" of many items; paying over $10 in shipping costs above and beyond what the buyer paid for shipping.
Double OUCH
3. Not checking the pleats in a beautiful LIKE NEW Ralph Lauren tennis dress and upon preparing for shipping, finding bleach spots in a pleat. LESSON LEARNED: triple check all inventory before listing; every nook and cranny. Wear glasses if you think you need them.
4. Not arguing with eBay about changing my ruined feedback rating after a buyer ruined my 100% feedback rating with ONE comment. Now, working back to my 100% rating with over 500 auctions, and no matter how great the auctions are, I don't know if and when I'll ever get my excellent rating back.
5. Thinking my little office could stay an office and guest bedroom while becoming an eBay seller: HAHAHA! NOT.
Don't learn your lesson the hard way! Hope this helped at least one of you!
