NO MORE FREE SHIPPING: Charge for it. Whatever it is, CHARGE FOR IT!

OK so given the FACT that the new policies will drive 99% of existing TRS holders out of those ranks, if not existance, I am proposing we all take up the following "8/24 Seller Strategy":

There is NO reason why you should still have settings designed for the TRS discount when you won't benefit from it.

1) Opt to go with a 3 Day Handling setting (relieves the stress and throws their 'shipping / delivery date calcs' into a frenzy.)

2) NO MORE FREE SHIPPING: Charge for it. Whatever it is, CHARGE FOR IT!

3) RAISE YOUR PRICES - Calculate your new FVF to INCLUDE the 20% TRS FVF loss and the added FVF cost of the shipping and adjust your prices UPWARDS. (Sure eBay gets a few more kopeks BUT the BUYER is covering that resulting is SITE WIDE price increases to ALL buyers.).

4) With the above strategy the Search Rank engine will get "Binary Diarrhea" rendering it useless and ineffective as a 'marketing ploy' on their part.

5) Finally and as a fitting result, the eBay CEO, Burke and other high ups at the next Stockholders Meeting will play THIS as a Prelude to the Annual Report:

Ebay will do nothing, they don't care....... they are so out of touch.
They can't deliver buyers like they did 2 years ago anyway.....

Yes : No more subsidized Ebay listings ( FVF+ Ship is included) already done that.
~3 day handling.......without actually doing it. ( still ship in 1 day)
Thinking about adding restock fees to cover FVF fees on refunds.

Also this :
" Hello Ebay shopper :   FVF fees are already included in all our prices here on ebay. "

Once shoppers start using google : the 3P selling venue model is dead..

"The floggings will continue until morale improves......"

Name a company that kills it's veteran clients off, the ones who pay them ~$10K a  year in fees.....for 10+ years.

Seller wants me to pay extra shipping

there is no way for the seller to legally invoice you the extra money.
the only way they can get it from you is if YOU send it thru Paypal, either as a send money or as a response to a Paypal invoice.

so when you pay the Ebay invoice you are completely covered for payment. if you don't get the item, you follow the INR procedures.

tell the seller that they cannot ask you to pay more than what the listing shows and that you are paying exactly what Ebay expects you to pay.

Forgiveness if this has been satisfactorily answered before

but I don't understand: Why/how are buyers allowed to give a Detailed Seller Rating to shipping costs when I do not charge handling fees?

I'm not trying to be snarky, I'm legitimately confused. My procedure: I photograph and package up a given auction item. I then list it, and in the listing I enter in the package weight & size dimensions. Once the item sells, I purchase the postage through eBay - the exact rate that the buyer is paying for the postage. I make no money off postage and I do not charge any additional fees (although I probably should for my time and materials).

If this is the case, why am I being rated at all when it comes to shipping rates? Shouldn't the buyer be rating the United States Postal Service?

Obviously I'm asking this because I'm projected to be "Above Standard" rather than "Top Rated" due to only one section - you guessed it, The Shipping & Handling Charges section.

Defect Rating on partial returns?

So I was just reading on another post about sales tax and it said that your defect rating will go up if you give partial returns? It also says PayPal will cut you off if you are giving partial returns?
I have many listings that are a flat $2 shipping with a $.50 more for each additional item. This works fine if the buyer buys multiples of the exact item or they request an invoice before they check out. The problem I have is a buyer will buy 4 different items listed with this same shipping and it charges the full $8 instead of $3.50. So i have just been going back into PayPal and giving a partial refund of the difference of what the shipping should have been,  $4.50 in this example, and leaving a message that say "over payment for shipping" in the note to buyer field.
Is this wrong? It has been working fine. I guess i'm now confused over this...

wow I just gave a seller back his shipping because priority mail took 3 weeks he opened a case I was going to refund his money but the item show up today so now i have a case that was opened and i was nice enough to refund priority shipping because I felt that he paid for priority but recieved sub standered service from USPS He never asked for any thing. GO figure nad now im going from a top rated to a above standered ARGH THIS IS INSANE
also I think this might be a way to push sellers to free shipping
I just spoke CSR and they are checking into it
wow cancled transaction now count against you OMG i have 5
but they were because the buyer requested me to cancel transaction UGH!!!!!!
this is going to be a fun couple of months

The shipping fee is charged when the buyer pays....

I want to use immediate payment requirement on all of my buy it now listings.  As I understand it, if buyer does not pay immediately, it stays listed for sale. Couple of questions: Does eBay charge its fees immediately or does it wait until someone actually pays? If no one else buys it, buyer who did not pay immediately could pay weeks later or is there some kind of cut-off? Is it available only on free shipping or can it be for calculated shipping too? What has been your experience using this option?
I was going to buy four items a couple of days ago from a seller who requires immediate payment. Each item was around $25.
I only want to checkout once, and combined shipping was mentioned in the description.
There was no way to put items in the cart. I couldn't find the cart symbol anywhere. I don't know if it's an eBay software problem or if it's an option for sellers. Normally, if you want combined shipping for an immediate payment item, you have to combine them from the cart, otherwise it's a checkout for each item.
I said, "Forget it, I don't have time to play email-tag with the seller," and bought from someone else.
