What is BMW Angel Eyes?
In 2001, Angel Eyes were first introduced on the BMW E39 5 Series as a head and tail light redesign. These lights were powered by fiber optics through a filament light bulb. The original design was actually very dim by today's standards when used as daytime running lights. Not long after this new design, fiber optic and CCFL (cold cathode fluorescent lighting) was invented for the 2004 BMW E36 3 Series. Before, the 5 Series and 3 Series didn't come with the rings.

BMW started to include Angel Eyes on all their models starting with the 2003 7 Series, including BMW E65 7 Series, E60 5 Series, E53 X5, E70 X5, E71 X6, E90/E91/E92/E93 3 Series and E82/E87 1 Series. These are fiber optic systems either powered by a filament bulb or a H8 halogen bulb.

New model BMWs with stock halo rings are equipped with high power LED lights or even HID Xenon Lights to replace the stock filament or H8 halogen bulbs. This gives the BMW Angel Eyes a matching Xenon White color during the night.

After 2011, BMW produced its own LED Angel Eyes for the E92 3 Series, F10 5 Series GT and the F25 X3. As a result, aftermarket high power LED BMW Angel Eyes became incredibly popular as the owners of older BMW models rushed to catch up with the new look.

BMW 5 Series LED Ring Marker Bulbs
15W BMW Angel Eye Markers are for the pioneer 2001-2003 BMW E39 5 Series, followed by the 2004-2006 E60 5 Series, 2004-2006 BMW E63/E64 6 Series, 2002-2008 BMW E65/E66 7 Series, and the 2001-2006 BMW E53 X5.

2006-2008 BMW 3 Series LED Ring Marker Bulbs
6W BMW Angel Eye Markers are for the 2006-2008 BMW E90 and E93 3 Series sedan and wagon.


The H8 LED Ring Marker Bulbs
H8 BMW Angel Eye Bulbs are for later BMW models like the 2008-up E82 1 Series, 2007-up E92 3 Series Coupe, 2009-up E90 3 Series sedan, 2007-up E70 X5, 2008-up E71 X6, and 2009-up E89 Z4.
