When eBay started the FVF on shipping we paid 10% and when they announced this change they also said the FVF would go down 1%. At that time we started paying 9%, then a few months later the new store fees structure was announced and the FVF stayed at 9%.
Now if eBay is just after a money grab as we hear all the time in the forum, then why did they reduce the FVF's? They could just left it the same and said sorry this is how it works now, but they did not take this approach, they lowered the item FVF to offset the additional cost from shipping FVF.
The timing was certainly well planned, and also gave non store owners something to think about with that 1% less in fees. My point is people keep complaining about the FVF on shipping, when if they really look at the numbers in many instances the fees are actually less than before.
